another update

Hey Everybody,

It's Jason again. Today was a much a better day. Lynn was allowed her first Dr. Pepper this morning and that was a big help to her psyche. The doctors would not let her eat anything until about 7 or 8 tonight. However, her mom snuck her three pretzels around lunch time and she kept them down so that was good. The docs didn't want her eating because there was no activity in her bowels. If there is no activity and you eat then you get sick. Lynn slept alot today which was good for her. Her mom was again with her most of the day and I hung out with Gracie and Brooke. Hannah is taking this worse than the other two. I don't know if it's because she is the oldest and understands slightly more than Brooke or if it's because she's the biggest "mama's girl" of the bunch, but today was hard for her. Lynn and I thought it would be good if I went and ate lunch with her at school today. That didn't work out quite the way we had planned it. She saw me and ran to me crying saying she wanted to go see mom right now. That's pretty much how lunch went. The best part of the day was picking Hannah up from school with my mom and Brooke and Gracie and going to see Lynn. It was all smiles and the girls were great around Lynn, not getting to close to the wound, but still laying in bed with her.

Later this evening, Lynn got out of bed for the first time and walked from her bed out of her room about 15 feet to the end of the hall and back. She now realizes that she had a major surgery and won't be doing any of the super mom things she did before for a little while. It was good that she got up and started moving because once she does that, everything else will start falling into place.

Many of you have asked how I'm doing and I now know that renting equipment is alot easier than chasing abunch of little girls around all of the time and I have help. I'm not at the hospital for long periods of time. I would like to be, but Lynn and I also want the girls lives to be as normal as possible until things actually get back to normal. That's the most difficult thing for me is not being able to be in two places at once. But, Lynn understands and her mom has been with her almost the whole time so she's in good hands.

I'll send another update tomorrow and I must say I'm now feeling like one of the girls. Thanks again for everything.

Jason
